Golden Key Music Institute, in partnership with the Bechstein Piano Centre, launched the new Golden Key Salon Series this fall, featuring both new and distinguished performers. Designed to bring artists and audience together, each concert will offer performances by several artists and will be followed by a wine reception with the artists. The salons will be held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month, from October through May, at the Bechstein Piano Centre, 207 West 58th Street, New York City.
The series will also include a piano master class, titled Cultivating Your Authentic Artistic Voice, with Madeline Bruser, founder of the Institute. Ms. Bruser is author of The Art of Practicing: A Guide to Making Music from the Heart, and has conducted seminars and workshops at the Juilliard School and other U.S. conservatories. At this master class she will introduce and demonstrate her unique, holistic approach to the piano, helping two accomplished performers release tension and unleash greater musicality. The audience will be invited to ask questions after the presentation.
Series performers include solo pianists Pavel Gintov and Anna Shelest, mezzo-soprano Maria Elena Armijo with pianist Kathryn Olander, violinist Emilie-Anne Gendron with pianist Yelena Grinberg, and violinist Gary Kosloski. Mr. Kosloski also played a Golden Key benefit recital with pianist David Oei and cellist Jonathan Ruck on October 27. The new Golden Key Salon Series at Bechstein aims to foster artistic development by bringing artists and audience together in an intimate setting for uplifting musical evenings.
Admission will be a suggested donation $20; $10 students. Seating is limited. For reservations call the Bechstein Piano Centre at 212-581-5550.
