Golden Key Music Institute

Announcing Auditions for the

Golden Key Salon Series at Klavierhaus

Golden Key Music Institute, in partnership with Klavierhaus in New York, is presenting a salon series, on the first Thursday of each month, October 2011 through May 2012.

Salons take place at Klavierhaus, 211 West 58th Street. The performance space (right) can seat an audience of approximately 60 people. Each concert includes performances by a few artists from the Golden Key roster, and each artist or ensemble may perform a few times during the season. Guest artists may also be invited to perform on the series. A wine reception follows each concert.

Admission to the concerts is $20, or $10 for students, and the proceeds will be divided among each evening's performers as honoraria.

Pianists and chamber ensembles with piano are invited to submit an application form for the concert series, along with a CD or tape to the selection committee, and may then be invited for an audition and interview.

Piano Master Class Scholarships

One evening in the series will be reserved for a piano master class, titled The Art of Practicing: Cultivating Communicative Power, with Madeline Bruser, author of The Art of Practicing: A Guide to Making Music from the Heart.

Two pianists will be selected to receive scholarships from Golden Key Music Institute to perform in this master class. Pianists applying to play in the salon series may indicate on their application form if they are also interested in a scholarship to perform in the master class.
